My image is 72 DPI is that acceptable?

No, 72 DPI is not suitable for printing. While most web graphics are 72 DPI, print-quality images or files must be created at 300 DPI at their final size to ensure sharpness and clarity. Using images with a lower resolution may result in pixelation or blurry prints.

If your original file was created at less than 300 DPI, it will need to be recreated by a professional graphic designer with the correct DPI. Simply changing the resolution to 300 DPI after the fact will not improve the image quality.
